Tithing in the Gentile Christian Church is anti-biblical.
The ten-percent is not a New Testament teaching. and it is not an Old Testament teaching!
There is never any money mentioned for tithing in the bible.
Abraham only ever tithed once!
The whole point we are trying to get across is not about people not giving, The Lord wants us to give and give generously as we are able, (and to give to those that are in need) as it says.
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Most of the churches today teach tithing which is compulsory and that when you tithe God will give back to you 10 or 100 fold. This is NOT the word of God.
A lot of these churches don't seem to care that a lot of people that they are taking tithes from don't have enough money for food or everyday needs, if this teaching were true where is the money they are suppose to be getting back. While they are going without the church gets richer.
Did Yeshua ever ask His disciples for tithes, no he didn't. Yeshua started the first church and what did he have, nothing. He lived a poor life and lived on OFFERINGS ( which was food and drink not money ) from people and asked for no payment for preaching healing and teaching.
If tithing was so important and what God truly wanted He would have started it with the First church and His Son Yeshua. Yeshua never once in all the scripture accepted money, He actually refused money offered to Him by the people.
